THINGS TO SEE & DO

Secluded Beach

This wonderful beach (Playa del Rei) is nestled in a cove and surrounded by woods of pine. It's about 20 minutes' drive away. Great for swimming in the warm water, with a backdrop of hills and luxury yachts.

City Beach in central Palma

A very pleasant beach surrounded by restaurants and bars, this is easy to get to by car or by the city's many bus services.

Santa Catalina

This is Palma's bohemian district, packed full of restaurants, bars, boutique shops and an indoor market.

Shopping in Palma

Palma offers many interesting narrow streets to wander, browse in the local shops and find some wonderful products handcrafted on the island. In the past few years Paseo del Borne has become the most important shopping street on the island, with the opening of Rialto Living, the Louis Vuitton store, Hugo Boss, Mulberry and Twin Set – making this the ‘designer street’ for luxury shopping. Borne is now known as the golden mile of Palma.

Historic Sites

There are many enchanting parts of the city, the main attractions and shops are situated around the massive Gothic cathedral down by the sea front. This area, known as Palma’s old town, is full of ancient passages, historic monuments and magnificent architecture. Here you will find no shortage of sights or refreshment stops within its many pedestrianised lanes, quirky cafes, galleries, and boutique shops.

Further Afield

If you have a car, the possibilities are endless and Mallorca is small enough that you can get to most places within an hour and a half. There are many beaches, wineries, secluded fishing towns, as well as historic sites such as the Royal Charterhouse of Valldemossa (pictured above) or the Chopin Museum.
